Battlefield 3 Gets Double XP May 12th & 13th

Fancy ranking up your Battlefield 3 account twice as fast? You’re in luck because this weekend is a Battlefield 3 double XP weekend. According to the official Battlefield 3 FaceBook page, double XP will be good for tomorrow, May 12th at 12:01am PST, and Sunday, May 13th across all ranked servers.

Be Advised, Battlefield 3 players – This weekend we’ll be doubling every experience point that you earn on the Battlefield ranked servers. Every kill, assist, revive – you name it, it’s doubled.

At the conclusion of each match the bonus XP will be reflected as “Additional Points”. Double XP will be accrued across all ranked servers and matches.

Battlefield 3: Close Quarters Donya Fortress Gameplay Trailer

Most of Battlefield 3‘s maps are vast expanses big enough to fit vehicular, and long range combat. Of course there are areas of the large maps that require you to get up close and personal. There’s also maps that offer medium range fighting if that floats your boat. But if you like your FPS games to be on more of a smaller scale, DICE have something in store for you: the Close Quarters expansion pack.

We’ve already seen some footage of the Close Quarters expansion with the Ziba Tower trailer, but now there’s a new trailer for the upcoming expansion. This trailer features gameplay from another map, Donya Fortress, and the new game mode Conquest Domination.

Battlefield 3: Close Quarters expansion is to be released June, 2012. PlayStation 3 owners get to download it one week early.

Crysis 3 Announce Gameplay Trailer
